NEWS: Tracy Payne's most recent solo exhibition took place at the Kizo Gallery in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal, in 2008. She was included on the exhibition Harbour: The expression of containment in contemporary South African art at the KZNSA Gallery, Durban (2009).

BIOGRAPHY
Tracy Payne was born in Cape Town in 1965. She graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art majoring in painting. The documentary Hush: A portrait of Tracy Payne, by Renee Scheltema, formed part of the official programme of the International Festival of Woman's Film in Creteil, France, in 2000. More recently another documentary directed by Tacako Mori for Nippon TV focused on her search for sakura (the cherry blossom), which led her to the Matsumoto Mountains, the foothills of the Japanese Alps. In 2006 Payne's work was included on the travelling exhibition New Painting (KZNSA Gallery, Durban; Unisa Art Gallery, Pretoria; Johannesburg Art Gallery) and on Second to None at the Iziko South African National Gallery.
