BIOGRAPHY
Born in Durban in 1953, Wafer has an MA Fine Art from the University of the Witwatersrand (1987) where he is an Associate Professor. He was a merit award winner at the Brett Kebble Art Awards in 2004. He was awarded a fellowship at the Civitella Ranieri Centre in Italy in 2001, and in July/August 2005 was artist-in-residence at RMIT University, Melbourne. Recent commissions include the design of a Memorial Wall for the Gugu Dlamini Park in central Durban, and sculptures for the Arabella Sheraton Hotel in Cape Town.
